JUNIOR YEAR (1986-87)
With one final season to play, Cindy Bumgarner finds herself in a leadership role. The graduation of Karna Abram leaves Cindy as the person to look for in critical moments and she will have to spark the Hoosiers offensively. While it appeared that Cindy was struggling in 1987, in actuality she had her best season vet. She averaged, 17.0 points a game and nearly doubled her total assists from the previous two seasons. Her free throw percentage of 84.1 was 17th in the nation. Cindy had a career high nine assists against Minnesota and four steals against Wisconsin. She is fourth on IU's all-time scoring list with 1,311 career points and should move up with one season left. She was named All-Big Ten honorable mention after being named to the first team as a sophomore. In Big Ten statistics, Cindy was the fifth leading scorer and she led the conference in free throw percentage, 83.8. In 1986 Cindy was chosen to the Kodak District All-American team, the Great Lakes All-Region team (University Division) and was special mention to the Fast Break All-American team. As a freshman, Cindy was second team all-conference and freshman All-American second team by Women's Basketball Yearbook.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (1985-86)
Every team has a player that opponents like to key in on and last year hat player was Cindy Bumgarner. But despite the defensive pressure, Cindy averaged 16.7 points a game and hit 55 percent from the field, the best field goal percentage on the team. Against Northwestern, she had a career high 36 points, scoring a blazing 12 field goals and 12 free throws. Because most of her points are scored are scored from the inside, she is often in the right place to pull down the crucial rebound. In 1986 she averaged 7.2 boards and was IU's top rebounder in 13 games. For her performances on the court she was named to the Big Ten stats such as fourth in total points, third in field goal accuracy, third in free throw percentage and ninth in rebounds. But most noticeably, Cindy broke into national statistics with the 16th best free throw percentage, 84.6. Bumgarner was also chosen to the Kodak District All-America team, the Great Lakes All-Region team (University division) and was a special mention to the Fast Break All-America team. In a preseason poll by Off the Glass, the nation's only weekly college basketball magazine, Cindy was named an Honorable Mention all-American. These honors will be added to the ones she won as a freshman which include second team all-Big Ten and Freshman All-America second team by Women's Basketball Yearbook.
FRESHMAN YEAR (1984-85)
After coming into the Indiana program as one of the nation's best prep basketball players, Angie Dunn quickly became a key "sixth man" by contributing on the court in a variety of ways. She played in 22 games during her first season and came through for the Hoosiers in several games during the tough pre-conference schedule. With the ability to work outside or penetrate inside, Dunn was always good for four or five points during six to nine-minute playing opportunities each game. Very versatile for a six-footer, she highlighted her rookie season with a nine-point performance in a 64-58 win over Wyoming in which she also totaled nine assists, seven steals and five rebounds. She led all non-starters in steals with 17 and was sixth in steals overall.

Bumgarner powered her way to a career scoring total of nearly 2,000 points to become one of the country;s most recruited high school seniors. She was named to the Illinois all-state squad both her junior and senior years and accumulated several national honors, including all-America status from both Converse and Street and Smith. Bumgarner averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds from Morton High School under the leadership of Coach Scott Repplinger.
