Junior Year (2002-03)- Stepped her game up late in the season...Gathing's 7.7 points per game average in Indiana's final three games was a significant improvement from the 2.0 points per game she averaged in the 24 games prior.. Went through off-season surgery to repair screws in her leg that were inserted during an earlier surgery.
Sophomore Year (2001-02)- Contributed with an excellent defensive effort in the Hoosiers' win over Penn State in the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament...Shined in the Hoosiers' game against Western Kentucky, scoring 12 points on five-of-eight shooting and bringing in six rebounds (three offensive) in only 17 minutes. Had a metal rod inserted into her left leg after undergoing surgery in the off-season.
Redshirt Year (2000-01)- Missed the year with a torn ACL sustained in training camp for the Big Ten All-Star Tour.
Prep- Played for Deb Johnston at Kankakee High School ... named the team's MVP as a senior, averaging 16.8 points and 14.4 rebounds per game ... received all-area honors for four-straight years ... named South Conference MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior ... holds the school record for the most rebounds collected in a single game with 29 ... played AAU summer basketball with the Illinois Hustle where they won the state championship twice and took third-place in the national tournament ... also played volleyball and ran track in high school ... school record holder for most kills in a single game with 21 ... member of National Honor Society ... member of student council.
