Bio
JUNIOR YEAR (1985-86)
Tracy Krick was probably affected most by last year's coaching change. She went from being a starter as a sophomore to a substitute as a junior. Her lack of speed can take most of the blame for her changing role, but despite everything she is still a team leader, acting as the cement that holds the squad together. Last season she was co-captain because she is respected by her teammates both on and off the court. Tracy is a smart player with good passing skills. She set an Indiana record for he most assists in a single game when she had 15 against Purdue in 1985. In addition to that record, her name appears more than once on the all-time leaders list for career, season, and game assists. In 1984-85 she averaged 5.4 assists after totaling 150 during the season. Tracy will have to work hard to get back in the lineup because the competition for the guard positions is fierce.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (1984-1985)
Tracy Krick started 20 of 28 games last year averaging over 27 minutes a game. her value as a starter became apparent as her season assist total grew and grew,. sing her quick hands and good court sense to make up for a lack of speed, she became a conference standout averaging 6.6 assists per game during the Big Ten season. She totaled over 10 assists in six games and shattered the school record for single game assists by handing off 15 against Purdue. Krick drives the lane when she has to, and while commanding the team at point guard, sets up Karna Abram and Cindy Bumgarner with her dazzling blind shots or overhead lobs. She upped her scoring average from 2.2 to 3.6 ppg and tripled her number of rebounds during her sophomore season, but her shooting percentage dropped from .800 to .342. Tracy tied her career scoring high last season with 10 points against Minnesota and set a career rebounding high with seven versus Michigan State. If another Hoosier guard can contribute to the IU point total and complement Krick's passing game, Indiana will have the guard combination it has been looking for.
FRESHMAN YEAR (1983-84)
Playing in 27 games and starting in five as a rookie last year, Tracy Krick acquired invaluable hands-on experience. That, and the fact that her strengths lend themselves so well into Indiana's new offensive system, puts her in a position to help out right away this season. The Hoosiers' best passer and a true point guard, Tracy's court strengths are the abilities to survey the entire floor and process what she sees into a good decision. If she has a weakness, it is her lack of speed. Tracy compensates for this so well, however, with excellent passing, consistent judgment and effient ball handling, her liability is reduced to a minor nuisance. While her focus last year was not on scoring, she turned in a season high 10-point game in a start against Wisconsin and will be expected to produce more in that phase of the game this year. With a game high of nine, she was fourth in assists in 1984 averaging nearly three per game and now that the squad is used to her dazzling passes, he is likely to cap the list this season as she proceeds to forge her mark at Indiana.
PREP

Tracy was alsoo a member of the National Honor Society and an American Legion Medal Award winner.
