2011-12 (R-SOPHOMORE): Cross Country: Placed ninth overall at Indiana Intercollegiates and was the fourth IU runner to finish with a time of 25:11 ... ran at the Cowboy Jamboree as IU finished second overall as a team ... crossed the line in 10th place at the Hoosier Invite.
AT MIAMI (OH): Posted a time of 3:46.38 in the 1,500m at the Jesse Owens Track Classic ... finished with a time of 25.28.5 at the 2010 Bowling Green Falcon Invitational in cross country.
PREP: Won the state championship as part of the 4x800m relay team ... placed fifth individually in the 2008 IHSAA state cross country meet ... took fourth place in the 2008 Mideast Meet of Champions in cross country.
PERSONAL: Born Aug. 14, 1990 ... pre-physical therapy major ... son of David and Kelly Dircksen.
Coach Helmer: "A lot of time has passed since Blake was 5th in the 2008 Indiana State cross country meet. He has trained well recently and that 5th place finish indicates there may very well be the talent there to allow him to realize some of the goals he has for himself. The adjustment to consistent high level training followed by the ability to make the most of the racing opportunities he has will be the key to his development."
