Brian Muehlhaus is a native of Downers Grove, Ill., and graduated from Indiana University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in history and has a master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan.
The return of All-Big Ten Second Team selection Clay Merchent helped the 2024-25 Hoosiers earn four top-5 finishes and a victory in the Purdue Fall Invitational. Merchent, the team’s low scorer of the season at 71.58, was an at-large selection to the NCAA Urbana Regional. IU finished eighth in the expanded Big Ten Championships.
He is in his 25th year as a teacher at Bloomington High School North and in his 23rd year as head coach for the Bloomington North Girl's Golf team after four years as the volunteer assistant coach for George Fielding. He was the Bloomington North Boy's Golf head coach from 2003-2019 and the volunteer assistant coach from 1999-2002.
Brian is on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Golf Association and on the Executive Board for the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association.
Brian resides in Bloomington with his wife Kate and their two children, Ellie and Thomas.
