Kelly has served IU Athletics for over 21 years, primarily in fundraising and development in the IU Varsity Club. She has held roles in annual giving, major gifts and principal gifts during this time and has helped to organize and lead two comprehensive capital campaign efforts for IU Athletics – For the Glory of Old IU Campaign and the Bicentennial Campaign.
The For the Glory of Old IU campaign was the first ever comprehensive capital campaign for IU Athletics. Raised over $94 million for capital projects and student-athlete scholarships exceeding the $80 million goal. New facility projects included the North Endzone Facility at Memorial Stadium, Wilkinson Performance Center, Cook Hall basketball practice facility and the D. Ames Shuel Academic Center.
The For All Bicentennial Campaign for IU Athletics surpassed the fundraising goal of $215 million for capital projects and student-athlete scholarships. Capital projects made possible in this effort include Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, South Endzone Facility at Memorial Stadium, Miller Plaza and the Spirit of Indiana statue, Terry Tallen Indiana Football Complex, Pfau Golf Course, Wilkinson Hall, and the Jerry F. Tardy Center.
As Executive Associate Athletic Director and member of the senior administration team, Kelly oversees the Women’s Excellence fundraising and engagement initiative created to provide support for the 13 varsity women’s sports at Indiana. Launched in August of 2021, Women’s Excellence has raised over $8.65 million to date in gifts and pledges to benefit capital projects, team experiences and program needs. Kelly also oversees the I-Association, the letterwinner organization of IU Athletics. Additionally, she provides sport administration oversight for the men’s and women’s golf programs at IU.
A native of Richmond, Indiana, she graduated from Indiana University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. Kelly and her husband, Matt, reside in Bloomington and their two children, James and Mason, are current IU students. Son, James is a student-athlete on the IU Football team.
