Indiana Men 16th, Women 22nd at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - Six runners from both the Indiana men's and women's cross country teams ran against a competitive field at the Adidas Invitational on Friday in Madison, Wis. with the men placing 16th overall and the women finishing in 22nd in the team standings of the championship races at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
The No. 16 IU men's team finished ahead of six other nationally-ranked programs including Big Ten rival No. 11 Wisconsin (17th) and No. 4 Stanford (21st). The men's race fielded 15 ranked teams as No. 2 Syracuse won the men's team championship.
Rorey Hunter led the Hoosiers with a 31st place finish in a time of 24:01.9 on the 6K course. He was followed by Jason Crist, who placed 49th overall, in a time of 24:09.6. The remaining Indiana scorers included Kyle DuVall in 79th (24:20.8), Owen Skeete in 125th (24:34.2) and Mark Chandler in 175th (24:57.3).
On the women's side, IU placed in front of a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in No. 14 Wisconsin (25th) and No. 20 West Virginia (27th). No. 1 New Mexico took the top prize in the women's race in a field consisting of 20 ranked teams.
Indiana was led by Amanda Behnke in 47th postion (20:28.7) followed by Brianna Johnson in 90th (20:53.6) and Chanli Mundy in 95th (20:56.0). Madison Stenger (157th, 21:31.0) and Haley Harris (175th, 21:41.4) also scored for the Hoosiers.
The remainder of IU's roster will compete on Saturday in Louisville, Ky. at the Pre-National meet. Indiana runners will being competing at 10:45 a.m. ET at Tom Sawyer Park.
