SCOUTING OUT THE CORNHUSKERS
Nebraska's 8-4-0 record includes a 5-1 mark at Barbara Hibner Soccer Stadium, which is in its second year after being completed in summer 2015. The Cornhuskers have posted a 2-2-0 record in conference play this season. Nebraska defeated Michigan State, 2-0, and Ohio State, 3-0. Setbacks include a 2-1 loss to Michigan and a 2-1 loss to No. 16 Penn State. Offensively, Nebraska is led by Jaycie Johnson, who has netted eight goals with two assists this year. Haley Hanson has scored five times while Sydney Miramontez has picked up five assists. Aubrei Corder has played every minute in goal with 43 saves a 1.14 goals against average. The Cornhuskers have scored 20 goals on the season, which is tied for third most in the Big Ten.
Indiana trails in the all-time series, 1-5-0. The teams last met on Oct. 19 in Lincoln with Nebraska winning, 3-0.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers returned to Bill Armstrong Stadium over the weekend, falling to No. 9 Minnesota, 3-0, on Friday before posting a 3-2 victory against Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Allison Jorden and junior Kylie Kirk scored their first career goals in the game, while sophomore Cassidy Blacha netted the game-winner for the Hoosiers in the 78th minute of action. The three goals for Indiana was the most in a regular season Big Ten game since a 3-2 win at Michigan State in 2013. The Hoosiers outshot the Badgers, 16-8, and tied the season-high in shots, set in the opener against Louisville on Aug. 19.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
The Hoosiers have now scored 14 goals on the season, surpassing last year's total of 11. IU has seen goals from nine different Hoosiers, the biggest distribution since the 2013 team saw goals from 11 different players. Redshirt sophomore Mykayla Brown leads the way with four goals, while Blacha and sophomore Caroline Dreher each have a pair of goals.
The Hoosiers have scored at least three goals in three different games (Aug. 28 vs. Northern Colorado, Sept. 11 vs. JMU and Sept. 25 vs. Wisconsin), the most since the 2013 squad did so seven times.
GREAT SCOTT
Freshman Meghan Scott has had a huge impact on the Hoosiers this season, both in the backfield and on the offensive side of the pitch. The London, Ontario native has started every game in the back and leads the team in assists with three, including one against Wisconsin on Sunday. Her three assists is tied for fourth-most in the Big Ten.
WHAT WOULD L'HOMMEDIEU?
Freshman goalkeeper Sarah L'Hommedieu picked up six more saves over the weekend, bringing her total to 53, good for second in the Big Ten and seventh in the country amongst freshmen (50th overall).
BROWN'S GAME-WINNERS
Of Brown's four goals this season, three have been game-winners (against Northern Colorado, JMU and Illinois). That mark is tied for the second-most game-winning goals in the Big Ten and 23rd on a national scale.
