
No. 1 Hoosiers Host Rival Evansville on Tuesday Night

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 1-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team will host in-state rival Evansville on Tuesday night in Bloomington, Ind.
Kickoff at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET., with live stats available at IUHoosiers.com. The match will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go.com.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The No. 1-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team will host the Evansville Purple Aces on Tuesday night at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
• The Hoosiers enter Saturday's contest with a 8-0-2 record on the season overall after taking down Santa Clara, 5-0, on Saturday night. The team exploded offensively, scoring four goals in a span of just over nine minutes in the victory.
• Freshman goalkeeper Trey Muse has played well this season, posting eight shutouts while allowing just two goals with 23 saves.
• Junior Andrew Gutman, junior Cory Thomas and freshman Mason Toye lead the Hoosiers with four goals each, while Thomas leads the team with 10 points on the year.
• Junior Austin Panchot and freshman Griffin Dorsey lead the team with four assists each.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE ACES
• The Evansville Purple Aces come to Bloomington on Tuesday with an overall record of 5-3-1 on the season.
• After jumping out to a 4-0 start, the Purple Aces are just 1-3-1 in the team's last five matches.
• On the season, Evansville has out-scored opponents, 21-8. Take out the season-opening, 9-0 win over Anderson, however, and that tally closes to 12-8.
• In a preseason poll conducted of the league's coaches, Evansville was picked to finish second in the Missouri Valley, behind only Loyola.
• Evansville welcomed back nine starters from a 2016 squad that registered the program's biggest turnaround, finishing 10-8-3 (4-2-2 MVC) after claiming only three wins in 2015.

YEAGLEY LOOKING FOR CAREER VICTORY NO. 100
• Indiana head coach Todd Yeagley comes in to the Evansville match with a career record of 99-50-31 (.636).
• Yeagley has posted a record of 92-41-29 at Indiana and went 7-9-2 in his lone year as head coach of Wisconsin in 2009.
DORSEY SELCETED FOR U.S. U-18 NATIONAL SQUAD
• Indiana freshman Griffin Dorsey was one of 20 players selected for the U.S. U-18 Men's National Team on Oct. 1.
• Dorsey and the U.S. U18 team will play a pair of friendly matches in Spain. The camp began on Oct. 2 with games against Belgium on Thursday, Oct. 5, and Russia on Sunday, Oct. 9.
• Dorsey is no stranger to the U.S. U-18 squad, having played for the team in tournaments in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Portugal.
HOOSIERS IN THE NATIONAL POLLS
• Indiana returned to the top spot in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings and moved up to No. 2 in the College Soccer News poll.
• The new United Soccer Coaches poll and Soccer America rankings come out on Tuesday. Last week, IU was ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll and No. 2 by Soccer America.
• In the first NCAA RPI rankings released on Monday, IU comes in at No. 9.
HISTORICALLY STINGY DEFENSE
• Through the first 10 matches of the season, Indiana has allowed just two goals - the fewest since the team allowed two in eight games in 1979.
• The 1979 team allowed just two goals in their first 14 matches.
• Indiana has posted four-straight shutouts, one off the team record of five consecutive that was most recently matched in 2007.
• The eight shutouts in the first 10 matches is also the first for the team since the 1979 season.
