
Indiana Falls on the Road at No. 16 Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Indiana University men's basketball team fell on the road to No. 16/16 Purdue, 86-75, on Tuesday night at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.
Indiana moves to 16-14 on the season overall and to 6-11 in Big Ten play, while Purdue improves to 24-6 on the season and to 13-4 in league play.
James Blackmon Jr. led the Hoosiers with a team-high 16 points to go with five assists, while Josh Newkirk added 13 points, five rebounds and three assists. Juwan Morgan totaled seven points and a career-high 11 rebounds for IU.
After a slow start to the game and trailing by as much as six, the Hoosiers battled back to take the team's first lead of the game at the 11:05 mark when Devonte Green buried a 3-pointer to give the Hoosiers a 17-14 advantage.
The Boilermakers responded, retaking the lead and extending it to as many as 15. Once again, IU answered, not allowing Purdue to score in the final 2:43 minutes, going on a 7-0 run to cut the PU lead to 40-32 at halftime.
In the second half, the Hoosiers got as close as four points, but the Boilermakers were able to hold off Indiana in the second half, winning 86-75.
Off the bench, Devonte Green scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while both Thomas Bryant and Freddie McSwain Jr. added eight points in his first career start for IU. Tim Priller scored a career-high six points in just five minutes for the Hoosiers.
The Indiana Hoosiers will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday, March 4 when IU heads to Columbus to play Ohio State. The game will be broadcast live nationally on ESPN at 12:00 p.m. ET.
