Tom Allen Bye Week Update

On how he approached the bye week…

"We've modified our schedule. We brought the guys all together early in the week and explained what was going to happen. It's one of those situations where you don't have a choice, you just have to adjust. Your heart goes out to the families down there in Florida still going through it all. I totally understand why we didn't play the game. You hate to have a bye this early, but it's just part of it. The most important thing is people's safety and their families. We're praying for those families down there. We are able to just adjust our schedule, we sent some coaches out today to go recruit. The rest of them are going out this afternoon and in schools all day tomorrow and games tomorrow night and even on Saturday. Taking advantage of our new bye week and our coaching staff was able to do that in a quick way. I was really proud of our team. We got three quality practices in this week, lot of situational things that you don't always get a chance to work on. We got some things installed for the future that we wanted to work on and to get ready for our next opponent. It's been a good week."

On the weekend schedule…

"What we are going to do is come in on Sunday and have a more aggressive Sunday than usual just because we have more time for Georgia Southern. That in my mind will be stealing an extra day for them. We'll come out and probably be in pads on Sunday and get a chance to do that. Then get back to a normal week, we'll have Monday off and then go Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and then Friday like a normal game week prep. I feel good at where we're at and be able to modify things and make it productive."

On the importance of getting Charleston Southern on the schedule…

"It was important. It's one of those things with that short of notice, you just want to get somebody to play. Our administration did a great job of finding someone that was available and willing to come here. That was the most important thing, to have a game. It happens to be Charleston Southern. Don't know much about them, we'll figure it all out. You usually have the teams prepared for well in advance, but we'll look at the film and take it as it comes. Right now our whole focus is on Georgia Southern."
