IU Track and Field Heads to Penn Relays

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field will travel to Philadelphia, PA for the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The three-day event will feature 34 Hoosiers at Franklin Field.
Day one on the track will start with junior Jeyland Valentin in the 400m hurdles at 10:00 pm ET and junior Maggie Allen will close out the track Thursday night in the 3,000m at 8:35 pm ET. Sophomore Khayla Dawson will kick off the field events for the Hoosiers in the shot put at 11:30 ET. The final field event of day one will be the women's college long jump featuring sophomore Leah Moran and sophomore Jenna Jungels.
Day two will feature mostly relays on the track as well as the men's 400m and 110m hurdles, the women's 100m hurdles and the women's 100m dash. Sophomore Leah Moran will open the field events Friday afternoon in the women's triple jump at 11:00 am ET and the day will end with junior Eric Bethea in the men's triple jump with the start time of 3:30 pm ET.
The third and final day of the Penn Relays will feature three events for the Hoosiers. Senior Paul Galas and freshman Jyles Etienne will start the day off in the men's high jump championship section at 1:30 pm ET. Redshirt freshman Ben Veatch will run in the Olympic development section of the men's mile at 3:55 pm ET and the final event of evening will be the women's 4x800m at 4:10 pm ET.
