BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – At the end of day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships the men's team is tied for third place with Michigan State with 29 points and the women's team is tied for fourth place with Penn State with a total of 32 points. The Hoosiers added three more medals to their collection making their total seven.
All-American Willie Morrison once again, broke the school record when he took the gold in a competitive shot put field. The junior entered finals in third place with his best mark being 19.12m (62' 8.75") but after the fourth throw he slipped into fifth. Morrison responded to the competition by breaking the school record on his fifth throw landing the mark of 20.15m (66' 1.5"), taking over first place but he wasn't done. On the sixth and final throw of the Championships Morrison launched the shot 20.22m (66' 4.25"), yet again breaking the school record.

Since then Morrison has continued to improve his marks and now holds the seven best performances in Hoosier history.
Junior Aaliyah Armstead added an impressive four-and-a-half inches to her lifetime best performance when she soared to 6.30m (20' 8") on her fourth jump at the afternoon, which ties her for the sixth best mark in Hoosier history. Armstead earned six points for the Hoosiers when she brought home the bronze.
Teammate Leah Moran was just short of earning points for the Hoosiers but still had a stellar performance when she improved her lifetime best by two-inches (6.09m / 19' 11.75"). On the men's side junior Treyton Harris also brought home the bronze when he jumped 7.54m (24' 9") on his fourth jump.
