INDIANA GOES TO KENTUCKY FOR DUAL MEET OPENER
This Week: The men's Swimming and Diving team will open the 1998-99 season on Saturday, Oct. 31 with dual meet at Kentucky. The first event of the coed meet will start at 12 noon.
Cream and Crimson Meet: In the annual Cream and Crimson meet, the Cream squad won by the score of 115-87. Senior Tom Wanezek lead all swimmers by winning the 50 and 100 free. He was also part of the winning 200 and 400 free relays. Other winners for the Cream were Jason Carlberg, Jon Carlson, and Ben Hunter. Winners for the Crimson team included Tom Davis, Ryan Tabereaux, and Joe Trent.
1997-98 Review: The Hoosiers finished the '97-98 season with a 21st place at the NCAA Championships and a fifth place finish at the Big Ten Championships. Individually, Mike Collier was named Big Ten Diver of the Year for the second straight season and diving coach Jeff Huber was Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
Big Ten Championships: For the third year in a row, the Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center will be the site of a Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championship. The men's Big Ten Championships will be Feb. 25-27 in Bloomington. In 1997 the men's Big Ten Championships were at Counsilman/Billingsley and last year the women's Big Ten Championships were in Bloomington.
NCAA Diving Zone Meet: Indiana will also be the site of the NCAA
Regional Diving Zone Meet. It will be held Mar. 12-13 and the top qualifiers
will move on to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Mar. 25-27.
