MISSOURI NIPS INDIANA AT ILLNOIS EXTRAVAGANZA

Champaign, Ill.-- The Indiana Hoosiers won six out of the ten events tonight, but the Tigers came out on top 96-89 at the Illinois dual meet Extravaganza. With the loss, the Hoosier drop on 0-2 overall.
Sophomore All-American Jen Cristy was the meet's only double winner on the evening. She owned both freestyle events taking the 50-yard free in :23.82 and the 100-yard free in :52.50.
With a 1:06.41 in the 100-yard breaststroke, senior Becky Kamberg cruised to an easy win touching out Missouri's Tawney Larm by almost two seconds.
Other winners were Jennifer Brooks and freshman Sara Reiling. Brooks won the 100-yard butterfly in :58.00, while Reiling took the one-meter diving title with 275.50 points.
The IU 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Helena Wilhelm, Kamberg, Brooks, and Meghan Rice, grabbed the final victory of the night going a 3:55.55.
The Hoosier return to action at the Illinois Extravaganza tomorrow for two dual meets. They swim Illinois State at 9:30 a.m., and they take on Southern Illinois at 7:30 p.m.
