HOOSIERS HAVE STRONG START
Bloomington, Ind.--The Indiana University women's swimming and diving team got off to a great start in its own today. Currently the Hoosiers are in second place, behind returning champ Missouri. There are still two days of competition left.
A highlight for the Hoosiers tonight was Jennifer Cristy claiming the 50-meter freestyle event in 25.64, which is a provisional NCAA qualifying time. IU swam to a second place finish in the 200 meter free relay (1:46.40). Indiana was third in the 400 meter medley relay.
Several Hoosiers swam season bests, and many scored points in the early round. With two days left, the Hoosiers are in good position to win their own invitational.
Complete meet results are available on www.athletics.indiana.edu. Events begin tomorrow at 9 a.m.
