HOOSIERS FINISH IU INVITE SECOND
Bloomington, Ind.-- The Indiana's women's swimming and diving team took second in it's own invitational this weekend. The Hoosiers 912.50 points were behind Missouri's 1158.
Today's highlights included Megan Ryther's win in the 1650-yard freestyle. Ryther won the mile in a time of 17:12.94. Jenn Cristy claimed the 100-meter freestyle title in an IU season-best time of 56.75. Cristy posted an NCAA consideration time in the event. Anne Williams also placed in the 100 free finals.
Tina Gretlund took a close second in the 200-meter fly. Gretlund's time of 2:18.03 was eight one-hundredths off of first place. Jenni Watts also competed in the finals of the 200 fly for the Hoosiers.
IU took second in the 400-meter free relay. The Hoosier's time of 3:53.21 was five seconds faster than the previous best. Williams, Cristy and Gretlund were joined by Meghan Rice on the relay team.
Overall the Hoosiers took four first-places, and several finished in the top four.
