Bloomington, Ind. -- Head women's swimming coach Dorsey Tierney today announced that nine additional swimmers have committed to attend Indiana University this fall. This highly regarded class, Tierney's first at Indiana, includes a World Championship finalist, a Danish National Champion, a U.S. National Championship finalist, and a Junior Nationals champion. The class also includes six individuals who qualified for Senior Nationals, three Junior Championship finalists, and three state high school champions. It also includes Megan Ryther, a transfer from Texas Christian.
"We are very pleased with this year's class and the swimmers that we have added since the early signing period," said Tierney. "We have added swimmers who have performed well at the national and international level and we expect them to be highly competitive in the Big Ten and on the national scene while at Indiana."
The nine commitments announced today join the Hoosiers' three swimming commitments that were announced this past December - Sarah Bowman, the Indiana high school state champion in the 100-yard freestyle, Kristy Martin, Senior Nationals qualifier and Junior Nationals finalist, and Anne Williams, the 50 and 100-yard freestyle champion in Michigan.
