1999-2000 Indiana Men's Basketball Schedule Released

Bloomington, Ind.-The 1999-2000 Indiana men's basketball schedule has been established and is now available to be released.
The schedule is highlighted by 12 nationally-televised games with the possiblity of one other regular season game on national television. The regular season begins Nov. 19 in Lubbock, Texas against Texas Tech.
The Hoosiers then play in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic in Springfield, Mass., against Temple on Nov. 26. This is only the second time the Hoosiers have appeared in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic. The first time occurred in 1991-92 IU against UCLA.
Indiana plays its first home game of the season against Notre Dame on Nov. 30 before heading to Indianapolis to battle Kentucky at the RCA Dome Dec. 4.
IU returns to Assembly Hall Dec. 10-11 to host the 26th annual Indiana Classic which features Buffalo, Indiana State and North Texas. Following that tournament, on Dec. 21, the Hoosiers play at the Jimmy V Classic in East Rutherford, N.J. IU plays North Carolina for the first time since 1988. The tournament is named after the late North Carolina State coach Jim Valvano. All the proceedes from the go toward cancer research.
The Hoosiers conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule with the 18th annual Union Federal Hoosier Classic Dec. 27 and 28. The tournament has a new venue this season in the Conseco Fieldhouse. UAB, Canisius, and Holy Cross are the three other teams in the tournament.
For the first time in three years, the Hoosiers open the Big Ten season at home as they host Wisconsin on Jan. 5. Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, and Ohio State are the four teams IU only plays once during the Big Ten season.
The regular season concludes with the third annual Big Ten Tournament at the United Center in Chicago. This year's tournament runs from March 9-12.
Indiana fans will have no trouble watching the Hoosiers on television. Besides the 12 games on national television, ESPN-Plus will broadcast the remaining games on the schedule. That includes WTTV Ch. 4 in Indianapolis plus the numerous other stations throughout Indiana which have covered the Hoosiers in the past.
