HOOSIERS HOLD FIRST INTRASQUAD SCRIMMAGE
BLOOMINGTON, IND. - Indiana Crew started off their first Varsity season with an Intrasquad scrimmage this morning. The practice race was held at Lake Lemon.
The race was a six K course. The Varsity eight+ came in with a time of 18:43. This included two 20 second penalties. This team consisted of coxswain: Mary Hubbard, Claire Shepley, Caitlin Skinner, Beth Lund, Stephanie McCallister, Joanna McCallister, Rachel Johnson, Kate Ridge and Katie Ostertag.
Coming in second with a time of 20:15 was the second Varsity eight+. Third was the Novice eight+ with a time of 21:24. The second Novice eight+ had a time of 22:17. The Novice four+ had a time of 26:43 and the second Novice four had a time of 28:35.
"I was very pleased. It was a good chance to see everyone come out, spectators and the team," said head coach Mark Wilson.
Assistant coaches Joan Kubinger and Rob McCracken help Wilson.
The rowing Hoosiers head to Pittsburgh next weekend for the Head of the Ohio on Sat., Oct 2.
