Jenn Cristy Named co-Big Ten Swimmer of the Week
Six first place finishes and two runner-up finishes led to Indiana senior Jenn Cristy's naming of co-Big Ten Swimmer of the Week. Cristy won the 100 and 200 free, anchored the winning 200 and 400 free relays, and swam the free legs on the victorious 200 and 400 medley relays at the Indiana Invite this weekend. She set season bests in the 50, 100, and 200 free, in 23.63, 50.88, and 1:51.43 respectively.
Cristy posted the fastest preliminary time in the 50 free and finished second in finals. She also took second in the 100 breast, after not having competed in the event since her freshman year. Indiana won the Invite with 1,151 points over Notre Dame, Miami, Cincinnati, Evansville, Ilinois, and Tennesse. The team travels to Auburn, Ala., for the U.S. Open November 30-December 2.
