RECORDS FALL AT BIG TEN'S
Indiana set two new school records just this morning, added to the two from yesterday. With three sessions down and three more to go, IU is sitting fifth.
Speaking of three, Susan Woessner goes into finals in third in the 100 back, and broke her 100 back record from yesterday this morning. Her time of 55.87 is an NCAA B-cut time. This is the third record in three sessions that Woessner has broken or helped break (yesterday she was a memeber of IU's record-setting 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay teams).
Another three for the Hoosiers was Tina Gretlund. Gretlund
continued to improve her 400 IM times, landing her third heading
into finals tonight. Her B-cut 4:22.34 is the fastest time by
a Hoosier this season, second fastest ever by IU, and is only
three one-hundredths off IU's record (4:22.31) from 1990.
Since we're mentioning records, remember that 20-year-old 200 free record that Jenn Cristy broke earlier this year? Erase that from your record boards because Ellie Lallman has officially left her mark on IU. Her 1:50.56 time is an NCAA B-cut, and landed her in the consols for tonight.
Many more Hoosiers have swum lifetime bests or season bests so far today. With faster times promised in the finals, look for more records to be broken. Here are some quick-hits from the day:
