Crew Advances to Grand Finals

Indiana rowing finished their day at the Lexus Central Sprints with two boats advancing to Sunday's Grand Finals race.
The Hoosiers started the morning off well as both the Novice Eight and Varsity Four boats advanced to the afternoon's Semi-finals race. The Novice Eight boat finished third in their heat as the top five boats qualified for the afternoon competition. The Varsity Four boat finished fourth in their heat and advanced as well.
Indiana continued to row well throughout the afternoon. IU took third in their Semi-finals heat of the Novice Eight race beating both Tennessee and Michigan. Michigan holds the current Big Ten title for this event. Duke found first place followed by Notre Dame. In tomorrow's Grand Final race, IU will face boats from Louisville, Iowa, Clemson, Notre Dame and Duke.
In the Varsity Four Semi-finals, IU took second place in their heat behind Clemson. Indiana beat both Duke and Iowa. In Sunday's Grand Finals, the Hoosiers will face Ohio State, Michigan State, Clemson, Kansas and Michigan.
"The Varsity Four boat had a really good race," said Head Coach Mark Wilson. "They were in the third place position at the 1000 meter point. In the final 500 meters, IU advanced a length and a half over Iowa."
