Woessner Still Has A Chance at World Championships
Austin, Texas --Susan Woessner finished the 100m back at US Nationals in seventh place with a time of 1:03.28. Woessner posted a personal best 100m back time by over a second in the prelims with a 1:03.25. The top six advance, but if Jamie Reid, who finished sixth in 1:03.17, qualifies for the World Games in another event, Woessner will represent the US in the 100m back. Reid won the 200m back in the spring 2000 US Nationals and also has a chance of making the team in the 200m free.
“Now I'm Jaime Reid's biggest fan,” eaxclaimed Woessner after the race. “I'll be cheering for her like crazy!"
Colleen McCracken swam the 100m in 1:06.27 for 36th place.
Megan Ryther took 11th in the 1500m free on Tuesday in 16:49.40, and Maggie Helmers finished 47th in the 400m IM in 5:05.33.
