Dean Signs With IU For 2003-04

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana head wrestling coach Duane Goldman announced today the signing of Max Dean for the 2003-04 season.

"Max is a great student and has a lot of athletic potential," said Goldman. "I think that Indiana will provide him with the opportunity to get the most out of academics as well as athletics. We look forward to working with such a dedicated individual."

Dean was a high school teammate of true freshman Matt McIntire at Lakota West High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was fifth in the state of Ohio last season at the 152 pound weight class and finished sixth in junior nationals at 145 pounds in freestyle wrestling.

Dean joins a strong Hoosier squad for the 2003-04 season. A remarkable student and athlete, Dean will look for IU's academics to challenge him as much as fellow wrestlers in the Hoosier practice room.
