Northern Iowa Open Preview

Bloomington, Ind. - The Indiana wrestling team takes a break from dual meets after a challenging east coast swing, heading to the Northern Iowa Open for a Saturday, Dec. 7 tournament.
No. 7 Coyte Cooper looks to improve his national InterMat ranking at 141 pounds. No. 9 Pat DeGain looks at some tough competition at the Open. Rounding out the Hoosier ranked wrestlers and at 125, No. 18 Joe Dubuque will face some of the best in the country Saturday.
Looking to improve on their performances at the Missouri Open, the Hoosier middle weight wrestlers hope to gain valuable experience and lift their individual records.
The open tournament will pit Indiana against some of the best wrestlers in the country. This marks the 52nd year of the tournament. Last season, approximately 300 wrestlers from around the Midwest competed in the Open, including wrestlers from Division I, II and III schools.
