Gray Joins Hoosiers
Bloomington, Ind. – WGCT-FM has announced that Jeremy Gray will take over duties as the play-by-play announcer for the Indiana women’s basketball team beginning in the 2002-03 season. Indiana women's basketball can be heard locally on WGCT-FM (105.1)A prominent name in the sports radio scene in Bloomington, Gray serves as the Sports Director for WBWB FM and WGCT FM.
“We are excited to have Jeremy join us this year,” Indiana head coach Kathi Bennett said. “He already has great experience and a good feel for the game. He will do a good job and we are looking forward to having him with us.”
Along with his duties as the play-by-play voice for the Hoosiers, Gray hosts WGCT's 'IU Football Tailgate Show' and reports both the news and sports for WBWB and WGCT.
"After last year's great run during the Big Ten Tournament, I am honored to be a part of the excitement of IU women's basketball,” Gray said. “I find the prospect of watching this program grow and continue to improve very exciting.”
In March of 2002, Gray moved to Bloomington from South Bend, Ind., where he served as Sports Director for WNDV FM and WDND AM for three years. While in South Bend, Gray served as the play-by-play voice for Notre Dame Baseball and Women's Basketball, calling all the action as the Irish made their National Championship run in 2000-01. Gray was also the co-host of the 'Bob Davie Show' on WNDV in 1999 and the host of 'Inside Sports' on WDND from 2001-2002.
Gray is a 1999 graduate of Ball State University and a former intern for Congressman Richard A. Gephardt.
Gray will take over behind the microphone for Mike Scott.
“We are appreciative of everything that Mike has done for the program,” Bennett said. “He had great enthusiasm.”
