Goldman Announces Coaching Changes

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana University head wrestling coach Duane Goldman has announced the hiring of Reggie Wright as an assistant coach. Wright will serve as the second assistant for the Hoosiers while former second assistant Mike Mena has moved into the first assistant spot vacated by Charles Burton's departure from the IU program.
"We're extremely pleased to have someone of Reggie Wright's caliber joining our staff," said Goldman. "He will make an immediate impact on our middle weight wrestlers. I am impressed not only with his obvious knowledge and ability in the sport, but in his desire and excitement to coach."
Wright, a 2001 graduate of Oklahoma State, obtained his bachelor of science in sociology while excelling on the wrestling mat. He was a two-time NCAA All-American at Oklahama State and recently finished third at the 2002 World Team trials in the 145 pound weight class.
"I am truly excited to begin coaching at this level, in the Big Ten and with a competitive program. Indiana has a bright future and a lot of tough kids in the wrestling program," said Wright.
Goldman has also added Butch Hildebrand, a former IU wrestler at 165 pounds, to his coaching staff for the 2002-03 season.
With the addition of Wright and Hildebrand and Mena moving into the top assistant spot, the Hoosiers have all the necessary coaching leadership skills needed to enjoy tremendous success this season.
