Hoosiers Prepared For Full Weekend

Bloomington, Ind. - IU travels to Charleston, Ill., and the campus of Eastern Illinois to face the Panthers on Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The meeting marks the ninth time the two wrestling programs have squared off with IU leading the all-time series with a mark of 13-6-0. The Panthers are currently 3-6 on the year and have faced a number of the same teams as Indiana. Eastern Illinois dropped duals to Buffalo, Clarion and Cleveland State at the Buckeye Duals on Jan. 4, all teams the Hoosiers upended that day.
Eastern Michigan and Indiana have faced each other just five times in the history of the respective programs. Indiana owns a 5-0 record over the Eagles. The last time the Eagles and Hoosiers met was in Jan., 2000 at the Buckeye Duals.
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville trails Indiana in the all-time series, 12-7. The Cougars are 2-4 on the season.
Missouri Valley and Indiana have never met on the mat until this season. Missouri Valley is an NAIA school that has a 4-1 record in 2002-03.
Despite three wins on the weekend, Indiana University dropped from the national team rankings after a tough, final match loss to Cleveland State at the Wendy's Duals on Sun., Jan. 12.
Freshman Joe Dubuque currently boasts a No. 13 ranking by both InterMat and WrestlingReport.com's Leglace Rankings. Despite defeating Amateur Wrestling News' current No. 16 and No. 17 wrestlers, Dubuque is not ranked by the ranking outlet. Dubuque is currently 11-0 for the dual meet season.

Despite defeating Cleveland State's current No. 4 - by all polling outlets - Gerald Harris on Sun., Jan. 12, Matthews is unranked by both Amateur Wrestling News and The Wrestling Mall.
