BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana wrestling team remained ranked 19th in the latest W.I.N. magazine rankings (Jan.11). The weekly rankings are compiled after receiving feedback from Division I-A wrestling coaches.
Two-time NCAA champion Oklahoma State remains in first. The Hoosiers are one of nine Big Ten teams currently ranked in the top-25. Those schools are Michigan at No. 2, Illinois at No. 3, Minnesota at No. 7, Iowa at No. 8, Wisconsin at No. 13, Michigan State at No. 18, Penn State at No. 20 and Northwestern at No. 21.
The Hoosiers boast five ranked individual wrestlers. The highest-ranking Hoosier is senior heavyweight Pat DeGain, who moves up two spots from sixth to fourth. At 125 pounds, junior All-American Joe Dubuque is seventh, up two spots from last week.
Senior Mike Simpson remains 12th, as does redshirt-freshman Brandon Becker at 19th. Junior Andy Richardson drops one spot from 18th to 19th at 174 pounds, as does junior Andy Rios, who drops from 17th to 18th.
The Hoosiers return to action on Friday, Jan. 14 as they travel to Hampton, Va. for the 25th edition of the Virginia Duals.
