Goldman Signs Four

Escobedo is a three-time state champion and 2002 FILA Cadet Freestyle Champion. He ranks as the top wrestler at the 135-pound weight class and the seventh-best grappler in the nation over according to Intermat. He has compiled a 174-1 overall record and is projected to be in the 141/149-pound class at the collegiate level.
Coughlin is the nation's top-ranked prep at 160 pounds and the ninth-best wrestler in the nation according to Intermat. He is a 2004 state champion and a two-time state runner up. Coughlin has compiled a 134-4 career record. Coughlin is projected to compete in the 157/165-pound weight class at Indiana.
"Angel and Matt are not only outstanding athletes," head coach Duane Goldman said. "But they are outstanding individuals, as well. They will make a huge impact on the IU wrestling program."
Parker was a state runner up as a junior. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the state at 171 pounds. He is projected as a 165/174-pounder in college.
Gunn earned a fifth-place finish as a junior and anchored his Lawrence North team to a state championship last season. He will compete as a heavyweight at IU.
"My entire staff and I are extremely excited with our incoming class." Goldman said. "We have signed four of the absolute best wrestlers in the nation. The fact that all of these student-athletes are from the state of Indiana, makes this class even more special."
