Indiana Wrestling Cracks Top-25

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After posting an impressive 42-6 win over Eastern Illinois on Sunday, Dec. 12, the Indiana wrestling team jumps into the W.I.N. magazine's top-25 at No. 20. The weekly rankings are compiled after receiving feedback from wrestling coaches in Division I-A.
Two-time NCAA champion Oklahoma State remains in first. Overall eight Big Ten school are in the top-25 led by Michigan at No. 3, then Illinois at No. 4, Minnesota at No. 7, Iowa following at No. 9, Wisconsin coming in at No. 15, Penn State at No. 18 and Northwestern at No. 24.
IU also features five ranked individual wrestlers led by All-American and junior Joe Dubuque at No. 8. Mike Simpson at 141 pounds follows at No. 12. Junior Brady Richardson jumps one spot from 17th to 16th at 174 pounds, while junior Andy Rios remains 18th at 184 pounds.
Two-time NCAA qualifier Pat DeGain is 17th at the heavyweight position.
The 20th-ranked Hoosiers return to action on Sunday, Dec. 19, when they open up the home portion of the schedule against Gardner-Webb and Cumberland at 2 p.m. at University Gym.
