Neville Takes First at Fla Relays (03-26-04)

On the men's side Neville picked up right where he left off in the indoor season. >Neville's time in the 200-meter (20.83) was a regional qualifying standard time and is also the fourth-best time in school history. On top of his performance in the 200-meter, the Merrillville, Ind., product also placed seventh overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.16.>
After red-shirting the indoor season, Wilson proved he still has what it takes to place among the best in the jumps competition. Wilson leaped 7.49m (24-07.00) in the long jump, putting him in fourth-place. Freshman Kiwan Lawson made his debut in the outdoor season and finished 11th overall with a jump of 7.09m (23-03.25). For the women's team, Jennifer Cobbina finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.87m (19-03.25).
In Friday's sprint events on the women's side, Ara Towns ran well, as she made a regional qualifying time in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.78. Towns sits at sixth-place heading into tomorrow's finals.
Prior to today's competition, two Hoosiers, Wil Fleming and Andrea Dalla Rosa, competed in the hammer throw on Thursday. Fleming hurled a personal best mark of 58.12m (190-08.00), good for a fifth-place finish. Dalla Rosa took 13th-place after she heaved a 42.83m (140-06.00).>
Competition at the Florida Relays will resume tomorrow with the first event set for 9:00 a.m.>
