BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber and the Indiana diving team announced the signing of Brittney Feldman (Indianapolis, Ind./Broad Ripple) for the 2006-07 academic year.
"I am very excited that Brittney will be a part of our team next year," Indiana head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber said. "The first time I saw her dive, I knew I wanted to work with her. She is very talented, dedicated and determined to be the best. She is also a great student and will be a team leader for us in the future. She won both springboard events last summer at the junior national championships and I believe she is the top recruit in the country and we are lucky to have her."
A double-event junior national champion, Feldman also earned bronze medals at the junior PanAmerican Games and at the U.S. Open in the three-meter synchro. Additionally, the two-time All-American captured the state title as a sophomore and placed second as a junior as well as earned first team all-state. As a member of the Starz Diving Club in the Circle City, Feldman competed in seven winter nationals and five summer nationals. She also lettered all four years for the Broad Ripple Rockets, her prep squad.
"I chose Indiana because I loved the team, the program and the school," Feldman said. "I have always wanted to dive for Jeff Huber. He is such an inspirational coach."
Away from the pool, the daughter of Marian and George Feldman volunteered at Tree Fest, the Muskatatuck Wildlife refuge and the Humane Society. She also participated in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, National Honor Society and Academic High Honor Roll. Currently, she stands as her class salutatorian.
