BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Over the 2005-06 campaign, IUHOOSIERS.com will catch up with former Indiana swimmers and divers to see where life has taken them after graduating from IU. Megan Geers, who swam for IU from 2000-03, took the time to fill in IUHOOSIERS.com on her life since graduation.
What have you been doing since graduating from Indiana University?
I am currently living in Huntington W.Va., where I am the assistant swim coach at Marshall University. I am working on my master's degree in Athletic Administration.
What did you enjoy the most about your time as a Hoosier?
I really loved being a Hoosier. I love the entire atmosphere of Bloomington. Begin on the swim team with the most amazing people I have ever met truly enhanced my experience.
What piece of advice would you give to any current Hoosier?
Don't wish it to be over too fast. My college career flew by. Enjoy every minute of the time you have in Bloomington, because those memories will stay with you long after you have left.
Would you say that being a student-athlete at Indiana University has helped you get to where you are today?
Being a student-athlete taught me how to become independent. It gave me the confidence to take chances and really go out on my own after I graduated. If you can conquer 5 a.m. practice everyday for four years, you can do anything!
