Every week of the Indiana wrestling regular season schedule, IUHOOSIERS.com will highlight the past or current performance of a Hoosier grappler. This week, IUHOOSIERS.com will spotlight freshman Trevor Perry and his efforts to go 11-4 in his first three competitions as a Hoosier.

So far in 2005-06, freshman Trevor Perry has proved his high school success has prepared him well for the collegiate arena. A former Michigan high school state champion, Perry opened the season by placing at both the Eastern Michigan and Michigan State Opens. The Davison, Mich., native started off the season going 7-0 en route to claiming his first career title at the Eastern Michigan Open at 174 pounds. In all, Perry has only dropped four matches in his freshman campaign, non of which have come in back-to-back matches. Perry's efforts ever garnered the freshman standout a No. 1 seeding at the Michigan State Open.
Perry is 11-4 on the season at 174 pounds, tallying three falls, one technical fall and one major in the process. Perry joined the Hoosiers as part a top-10 recruiting class for the Hoosiers in 2005 and looks to continue his success throughout the 2005-06 season.

Led his high school team to four team state championships • two-time all-academic honoree • 2005 Michigan state champion • 2004 all-state recipient, finishing third • two-time conference champion • three-time Fargo All-American • two-time FILA All-American • finished seventh at the senior national competition • one twin brother, Travis, and one sister, Autum • son of Debbie and Don Perry.
