BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana wrestling team held onto its preseason ranking of 16th announced the USA Today / NWCA / InterMat NCAA Div. I Coaches' Poll on Dec. 8. The Hoosiers open their dual schedule on Dec. 10 as they host the Hoosier duals at Assembly Hall on the campus of Indiana University.
Defending national champion Joe Dubuque remained at the top spot of the 125-pound division for the third straight week. Dubuque currently stands at 4-0 on the season after capturing his first regular season career tournament title at the Mat Town Invitational (11/26).
Sophomore All-American Brandon Becker moved up one spot to fourth at 157 pounds after going 3-0 at the Mat Town invitational to capture his first regular season career tournament title. Becker currently sits below two Big Ten wrestlers in Alex Tirapelle of Illinois and Joe Johnston of Iowa.
Wrapping up the Hoosiers in the rankings is senior two-time NCAA qualifier Brady Richardson. Richardson started the preseason at 11th but after delivering a 9-2 record, a 2-1 record against ranked foes and his second career regular season tournament title at the Missouri Open (11/20), the Vincennes, Ind., native now stands in eighth.
