Spotlight on Stockwell (03-15-05)

In the coming weeks, we will spotlight each IU signee individually. The ninth Hoosier in the series is Stockwell.
Stockwell, a three-time All-American from Kent, Wash., paced Kentlake to a division championship in 2004 with an unblemished record. Throughout her career, Stockwell placed in the top five on eight separate occasions at the Washington State Championships, while also breaking the 100 breaststroke district meet record her senior season. Meanwhile, Stockwell earned a spot on in the 2004 Who's Who Among American High School Students - Sports Edition. While at Kentlake, Stockwell also served as an athletic trainer and the boys swim team manager as well as played for the pep band.
"Sarah is coming off of a tremendous performance at the Washington high school state meet," Tierney said. "The energy, enthusiasm and intensity that she brings to the pool each day will immediately impact the team. I cannot wait to work with Sarah and our new breaststroke corps."
