"I listen to slower music because I don't want to get too psyched up and get myself over worked for the meet," Colgin said.
Colgin, a junior at IU, is adding some leadership to the team this year as only one senior is on the roster. Colgin, a 2004 All-American, set the pace this year at IU by beating the school record in the 200-yard freestyle. While at the Big Ten Championships, she finished in 4 out of 5 spots to gain points towards IU. Finally, she finished with two new career bests before heading into NCAA Championships.
While out of the pool, Colgin likes to take part in tennis when the weather permits or basketball. She is looking forward to being on an intramural coed soccer team and also participating in the intrasquad water polo match soon.
Additionally, Colgin will join teammate Leila Vaziri at the World Championship Trials, as the only two IU swimmers traveling to the event.
