"I do activities that every college student does like hang out with my friends," Vaziri said.
Additionally, Vaziri has a passion to see many theater performances occurring around Bloomington as teammate Heather Chapman is a theater major and is seen in many plays around town. The bulk of Vaziri's friends are on the team and they don't plan on venturing too far from each other, as they will live within one mile of each other next year.
When Vaziri is in the pool, she dominates. The Coral Springs, Fla., native has taken 31 event titles this year and had a streak of six consecutive event wins. Her biggest crown came in the 2005 Big Ten Championships where she beat last year's champion Penn State's Sarah Haupt and brought in an IU record.
Furthermore, Vaziri put up three career bests this season and achieved Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, National Swimmer of the Week and first team honors within the Big Ten Conference.
Next up for Vaziri, the sophomore will travel to the World Championships with teammate Doherty Colgin as the two IU swimmers competing.
