Clausing Wins 200 and 400m

EUGENE, Ore.,--Reining Big Ten Co-Athlete of the Week, Stacey Clausing swept the 200m (24.00) and 400m (54.35) events at the Pepsi Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the Hoosiers finished fourth overall in the quadrangular meet with 107 points. Missouri (171.50 points) won the meet, while Oregon (171 points) and Washington (164 points) were the next finishers.
Four other Hoosiers took home second place laurels in the running events as Lorian Price lost by just under a meter at finish line in the 100m hurdles, clocking in at time of 13.67, Ara Towns took second in the 100m dash, turning a 12.20 , Michele Huber finished on Clausings' heels in the 400m with a time of 55.98, and Larra Overton gutted out a second place finish in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:07.39. Price and Overton met the regional qualifying standard in their respective events.
Zakiya Robinson was another second-place finisher, as she recorded a mark of 5.77m (18-11.00) in the long jump on her fifth attempt.
Indiana is back in action next weekend, April 15-16, when it travels to the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
