MONTREAL, Canada - Graduated senior Cassandra Cardinell and her partner Laura Wilkinson placed fifth in the synchronized platform diving competition at the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal. The pair posted a 318.66 tally to close out the day 32.94 points out of the lead.

China's tandem of Tong Jia and Pei Lin Yuan claimed the gold with a 351.60, while the Australian duo of Loudy Tourky and Chantelle Newbery picked up silver with a 334.89. Canada's twosome of Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion rounded out the podium with a bronze-winning effort of 328.80.

Women's one-meter action begins tomorrow at 10 a.m., with finals at 3:15 p.m.
