Loukas, Underwood Advanced to 3m Synchro Finals

MONTREAL, Canada - Rising freshman Christina Loukas, and her partner Nancilea Underwood, advanced to finals of the 2005 FINA World Championships three-meter synchronized diving competition in Montreal. The pair posted a 255.42 after five rounds of action to move to the next round.
In the opening round of the preliminaries, the pair posted a 47.40 from an inward dive to move into ninth. In the second round, the duo recorded a 48.00 off a backwards dive to remain in ninth. In the third round, the tandem notched a 52.92 on a forward three-and-a-half somersault to fall to 10th. In the fourth round, Loukas and Underwood registered a 55.80 on a backwards two-and-a-half somersault to stay in 10th. In the fifth-and-final round, the twosome put up a 51.30 off a forward two-and-a-half somersault with one-and-a-half twists to finish in 12th and advance to finals.
