Wentworth Claims 100 Free Gold in Speedo Zones

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Rising sophomore Clarissa Wentworth picked up her first gold medal of the Speedo Champions Series Central Zone Section 3 meet held at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind., with a solid effort in the 100 freestyle. The Dayton, Ohio, native blazed to victory with a time of 58.02 to not only touch first, but also clear the U.S. Open threshold during day two of the competition.

Meanwhile, incoming freshman Abby Cooper claimed third place in the 100 free with a time of 58.91. She also posted a fifth-place performance in the 200 breaststroke later in the evening.
