Weigle Takes 23rd in Three-Meter at Nationals

HUNTERSVILE, N.C. - Rising sophomore Lindsay Weigle finished in 23rd on the three-meter with a score of 180.30 at the 2005 Speedo Diving National Championships in Huntersville, N.C.
The Bloomington, Ind., native opened up the day with a strong 51.12 from a forward two-and-a-half somersault pike to start in fifth place. Unfortunately, Weigle's second dive, an inward two-and-a-half somersault tuck, only earned a 27.54 to drop her to 22nd. She bounced back in the third round with a backward two-and-a-half somersault tuck for a 38.64 to move up to 17th. Weigle then dropped to 20th with a 26.04 from a reverse two-and-a-half somersault tuck. She closed out the day with a 36.96 from a backwards one-and-a-half somersault with two-and-a-half twists to take 23rd place.
