Adventures in Turkey with Christina Loukas

IZMIR, Turkey - Rising freshman Christina Loukas will be providing a diary from time to time as she competes at the 2005 World University Games in Izmir, Turkey.

Today was my 10m individual event. My dives didn't go as well as I had liked them to, but I was still happy because this was my first international 10m event. It was a great experience for me to dive against some of the best divers in the world.

I was also happy because my parents, two of my aunts and my cousin were all able to make it to the meet and watch me. This was the first time my relatives got to see me dive this event so they were all very proud of me and how I did. Cassandra also competed and did awesome by getting second! We were all sooo excited about one of the U.S. divers getting a medal and hopefully there will be more to come later on in the week!
