Adventures in Turkey with Christina Loukas

IZMIR, Turkey - Rising freshman Christina Loukas will be providing a diary from time to time as she competes at the 2005 World University Games in Izmir, Turkey.

Today was my first day without diving. It was really nice to finally get some time to relax and enjoy the sun. I woke up this morning and met my parents at the entrance to the village. Luckily, we were able to get them in and they were able to see what it was like. We walked around the International Zone and just looked at the souvenirs and the awesome views from up there. It only took about an hour, because there wasn't much to see, so we headed over to the pool together.

From there, we said our goodbyes and then I continued to watch the girls 3m event. It was fun to watch because two of our girls made finals (Ashley Rubenstein and Carrie McCambridge). It was a fun day, but I was sad to see my parents leave.
