Weigle Places 11th in U.S. Nationals

Weigle placed 11th on the tower at nationals.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. - Rising sophomore Lindsay Weigle wound up finishing in 11th on the tower with a score of 377.55. After carrying over 229.80 points from prelims, the Bloomington, Ind., native closed out the day placing outside the finals at the 2005 Speedo Diving National Championships in Huntersville, N.C.

Weigle opened the semifinal round with a 34.56 on a forward one-and-a-half somersault pike. She then posted a 42.75 on an armstand forward one somersault pike. She followed that with a 40.20 inward one-and-a-half somersault pike. In the final round of semis, Weigle closed out with a 30.24 from a forward one-and-a-half somersault with one twist.
