BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana wrestling team held onto its top-20 ranking, remaining 15th announced the USA Today / NWCA / InterMat NCAA Div. I Coaches Poll on Jan. 4. The Hoosiers continue their dual schedule on Jan. 13-14 as they travel to Norfolk, Va., for the Virginia Duals.
Defending national champion Joe Dubuque remained at the top spot of the 125-pound division for the ninth straight week. Dubuque currently stands at 8-0 and captured his first regular-season career tournament title at the Mat Town Invitational (11/26) and went 2-0 at the FITE Duals.
Sophomore All-American Brandon Becker (157) dropped to sixth and extended his appearances in the top 10 to nine straight weeks. Becker stands at 11-2 on the season and went 3-2 at the Midlands Championships (12/29-30).
Wrapping up the Hoosiers in the rankings is senior two-time NCAA qualifier Brady Richardson. Richardson started the preseason at 11th but has since delivered a 16-3 record and a 4-2 ledger against ranked opponents. Richardson is currently tabbed seventh for the second week in a row and fourth week in the top 10.
