- The Hoosiers have won 10 straight home Big Ten conference affairs following their 81-79 win over Ohio State. IU is 2-0 this season and went a perfect 8-0 at home during the 2004-05 season.
- Junior guard Roderick Wilmont took a pair of charges on the baseline in the opening half. It was the third and fourth charges he had taken this season and the 27th and 28th IU has taken as a team this season.
- With 5.7 seconds remaining, senior guard Marshall Strickland drew a pushing foul from Terence Dials on the offensive end as Dials ran through Strickland, who was setting a screen in the paint. Strickland knocked down both free throws, his 11th and 12th straight, which proved to be the game-winners. He hit his opening two free throws of the contest at the 8:19 mark of the first half. He leads the Big Ten in free throw shooting at 91.2 percent (31-of-34) for the year.
- With an offensive put back by Ivan Harris with 4:49 remaining in the first half, Ohio State took a 15-point lead at 36-21. Following a pair of Je'Kel Foster free throws, OSU led by 17. It signified the largest deficit for the Hoosiers this season. Previously, the Hoosiers trailed No. 1/1 Duke by 14 with 16:40 left in the first half on Nov. 30. The Hoosiers overcame the 17-point deficit against the Buckeyes, winning by two, 81-79. It marked the first time IU had overcome a deficit as large as 17, since the Hoosiers knocked of then top-seeded Duke on March 21, 2002, in the regional semifinals of the 2002 NCAA Tournament. The last time IU overcame a 10-point deficit was Jan. 15, 2005. The Hoosiers trailed Purdue, 32-22, two minutes into the second half before coming back for a 75-73 win in double overtime.
- Indiana improved to 2-1 against the A.P. Top 25 this season. In fact, under the tutelage of sixth-year head coach Mike Davis, the Hoosiers have now defeated 21 ranked opponents.
- The Hoosiers finished with 10 three-point field goals. IU opened the second half with three-straight field goals in the first two minutes. After hitting 3-of-10 from three-point range in the first half, IU improved to 7-of-11 in the second stanza. The Hoosiers hit 10 or more three-pointers for the seventh time this season, game in which IU is 7-0. During IU head coach Mike Davis' six-year tenure, the Hoosier shave hit double-digit treys on 40 occasions. Indiana is 32-8 in those affairs. Since the three-point line was instituted in college basketball, Indiana is 44-11 when hitting 10 or more three-pointers.
- Senior forward Marco Killingsworth tied his career high with four block shots against the Buckeyes. It marked the second time this season that Killingsworth has blocked four shots in a game. He opened the season with four swats against Nicholls State on Nov. 18.
- Killingsworth finished with a game-high 26 points to lead the Hoosiers in scoring. It marked the sixth 20-point game of the season for Killingsworth and seventh time he has led IU in scoring.
- Senior guard Lewis Monroe entered Saturday's affair with only three turnovers in his last 73 minutes over action (during the Hoosiers last three games). He had seven assists over the stretch. He continued his solid ball-handling against Ohio State. In 26 minutes of play, Monroe had six assists compared to only two turnovers. Monroe ranks among the Big Ten leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.10.
- Monroe hit double figures in points for the second time this season, finishing with 11 against the Buckeyes. He bettered his Hoosier career high of 10 on Nov. 18 against Nicholls State. The Madison, Wis., native had a career-high 17 against Mississippi State on Jan. 31, 2004 while playing at Auburn.
- Junior guard Roderick Wilmont has been a spark off the bench for the Hoosiers all season. He finished with 11 against the Buckeyes. The game against Ohio State marked the fifth time this season Wilmont has led IU in bench scoring this season.
- Senior guard Marshall Strickland also finished with 15 points on the day, moving into the top 50 on IU's career scoring list. He sits in a tie for 50th place with 887 points. He moved into a tie with former Hoosier guard Michael Lewis.
- The Hoosiers overcame a deficit at halftime for the first time since Feb. 20, 2005. IU trailed 31-30 against Michigan on that date before coming back for a 70-63 victory. The last time IU overcame a halftime deficit at Assembly Hall was also against the Wolverines. IU trailed 30-27 against Michigan on Jan. 19, 2005 before coming back for a 62-53 win.
